AIR JACKS AND CASTERS
Air Casters are
generally used in lieu of wheels and have many advantages. All
that’s needed is
a source of
compressed air, a smooth sealed surface such as cement, tile,
or steel floor and a
load ranging in
weight from 200 pounds up to 5,000 tons. Some of the technical
features that
make air casters
the preferred choice for moving heavy, bulky or sensitive
loads are as follows:
-
Low frictional
force
-
Operates on
plant air
-
Omni or 4
directional motion
-
Clean and quiet
operation
-
Precise
positioning
-
Low surface
loading
-
Protects
floor finish
-
Gently move
sensitive loads
-
Eliminates need
for fork trucks/overhead cranes
-
Safely move and
control heavy loads
Air jacks
designed for lifting applications are especially convenient
when used in conjunction with air casters. These ultra thin
air jacks are less than 1” thick, can be easily inserted under
a machine base and inflated in a controlled matter in just
seconds. Once raised the air casters can be placed under the
load and are ready to go. The air jacks are lightweight and
come with a handle for portability
